From January 1, 2025 social payments to Muscovites will be increased by 5.5%. General Director of the professional legal group AID, lawyer David Adams told "Izvestia" how citizens to receive payments.

The expert emphasized that the decision was made to support the residents of the capital, especially those who belong to privileged categories.

"The minimum pension with a city supplement will amount to 25,850 rubles per month, which will be a tangible help for pensioners. The increase in payments will affect both lump-sum and monthly benefits for many categories of citizens, including large families, guardians, children with disabilities, veterans, heroes of labor and others," he added.

At the same time, special attention is paid to families raising orphans and children left without parental care, as well as student families. Indexation will also affect payments to parents of deceased servicemen, widows of heroes and long-livers over 100 years old. In the framework of festive and memorable dates, such as the anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War and other significant events, lump-sum payments are also planned. Their amounts will be determined additionally, the lawyer drew attention.

"To receive social payments, Muscovites need to follow a certain procedure. One of the most convenient ways is to apply through the portal "Gosusgoservices". To do this, you will need to authorize in your personal account, find the service "Provision of state social assistance in the form of social benefits" and fill out an application. After registering the application, the user will receive a notification and a list of required documents that need to be uploaded to the site. If the decision is positive, payments will start to arrive to the specified details, but it is important to remember that for the transfer of funds you need a card with the payment system "Mir", - explained Adams.

According to him, alternative options include contacting social security agencies or MFC. There you can get a consultation, specify the list of necessary documents and submit an application. In this case, all services are provided in a unified approach, which greatly simplifies the process for applicants.

At the same time, on the portal of the Mayor and Government of Moscow, you can find detailed information on current information about social payments and their amounts. The lawyer called it a convenient tool for Muscovites, which allows them to check the data at any time and clarify the procedure for receiving benefits.

"The Moscow authorities continue to provide significant support to its citizens, especially to those who need it most. Indexation of payments, as well as convenient mechanisms for receiving them, testify to the desire to make the system of social assistance more accessible and effective", - concluded Adams.

Earlier, on December 1, Adams told Izvestia that from 2025 Russian pensioners will be able to count on positive changes in their financial support thanks to innovations in the pension system and the expansion of social benefits. One of the main changes will be the indexation of insurance pensions by 7.3%
