Bloomberg pointed to NATO's attempts to force Kiev to start negotiations

NATO wants Kiev to start negotiations on a ceasefire. This was reported by the Bloomberg news agency on Wednesday, December 4.
"At the moment, that means NATO is redoubling efforts to deliver more weapons to <...> the country (Ukraine. - Ed.) as Kiev's forces are gradually losing ground, heightening fears that a possible cease-fire could freeze the conflict as part of Ukraine's territory would fall under the occupation of Vladimir Putin 's (Russian President. - Ed.) troops," the report said.
According to a senior NATO diplomat quoted by the newspaper, one of the possible options for a ceasefire is the creation of a demilitarized zone where any military actions will be banned.
Earlier, on November 29, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, whose term of office expired on May 20, said in an interview with the British TV channel Sky News that he might agree to a cease-fire and give up some territories in exchange for Ukraine's NATO membership. He said NATO membership should be offered to Kiev-controlled parts of the country to end the "hot phase," provided the NATO invitation itself recognizes Ukraine's internationally recognized borders.
Former U.S. Congressman and Florida Republican Matt Gaetz, a former member of the U.S. Congress, said after Zelensky's Nov. 29 statement that admitting Ukraine to NATO would be a terrible idea.
Ukraine applied to join NATO on an expedited basis on September 30, 2022. At the time, Zelensky said that in fact the country is already in the alliance and meets its standards.
