A Maybach for 21 million rubles was stolen from a parking lot in Moscow City


A Mercedes Maybach worth 21 million rubles was stolen from the parking lot of one of the towers in Moscow City. This was reported on December 4 by Izvestiya source familiar with the situation.
The car was found in a ditch in the south-east of Moscow in the area of Kuskovsky forest park. The hijacker left the vehicle and fled.
The foreign car belongs to billionaire and businesswoman Elena Berenshtein. The car was found missing on Monday morning, December 2. The woman admitted that she had left the keys under the wheel. A criminal case has been opened on this fact.
Later Berenshtein confirmed to Izvestia that her car was stolen from a paid parking lot. She added that the hijacker is being sought.
Earlier, on November 21, in Kaluga detained a suspect in the commission of serial theft of foreign cars. According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the man at night came to parking lots, opened cars with a special device, stole and left near the neighborhood where he lived. After the theft, he placed advertisements on the Internet and sold the cars.
Criminal proceedings were initiated against him under parts 3 and 4 of article 158 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Theft").
