Air defense forces shot down Ukrainian drone over Belgorod region

Russian air defense forces have destroyed a drone of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) over Belgorod Region. This was reported by the Russian Defense Ministry on Wednesday, December 4.

"The Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicle was destroyed over the territory of the Belgorod region by the on-duty air defense means," the statement reads.

An attempted attack by the Kiev regime with the use of a drone of the airplane type was stopped at about 16:00 Moscow time, the ministry said.

Earlier in the day, two civilians of Shebekino, Belgorod region, were injured as a result of attacks by AFU drones. In addition, cars and a commercial building were damaged. The injured were provided with the necessary assistance, said the governor of the region Vyacheslav Gladkov.

Before that, on the night of December 4, air defense forces shot down 24 Ukrainian drones overnight over a number of Russian regions. Another 11 drones were eliminated in the morning.

The AFU is trying to strike Russian territories against the background of the special operation in Donbass, the start of which was announced on February 24, 2022. The decision was taken due to the aggravation of the situation in the region due to shelling by the Ukrainian military.
