Piotrovsky calls rumors of a possible change in the Hermitage's management a rumor

Director of the State Hermitage Mikhail Piotrovsky did not comment on a possible change of management.
"I don't discuss rumors, the director's post is occupied," he told Izvestia on December 4.
Piotrovsky has headed the museum since 1992. He succeeded his father, Boris Piotrovsky, and in September 2022 was reappointed to the post for another three years. On December 9, the head of the Hermitage will turn 80 years old.
Earlier, on December 2, Piotrovsky, during an Internet meeting dedicated to the Hermitage Days, figuratively spoke about the "changing of the guard" in the museum's leadership. At the same time, Mikhail Shvydkoy, special representative of the Russian president for international cultural cooperation, said in a conversation with Izvestia that he sees no replacement for Piotrovsky.
