Diesel cars whose history is checked most often have been named

The leader in the number of requests to check the history of used cars with a diesel engine in Russia is the BMW brand, which accounted for 16.1% of checks. This was reported to Izvestia on December 5 by experts of the Avtoteka service (Avito project), having studied the data for the period from September to November 2024.

In total, 12.9% of requests for diesel cars in the fall were checked. Next come Volkswagen (11%), Mercedes-Benz (10.5%), Toyota (9%) and Land Rover (6.9%). Hyundai, Audi, Kia, Ford and Mitsubishi completed the top ten.

More often than other diesel cars in the fall checked the history of crossover BMW X5: its share accounted for 4.3% of all requests. Toyota Land Cruiser, Volkswagen Touareg, BMW 5 Series and Toyota Land Cruiser Prado are next. In the second five are Hyundai Santa Fe, Ford Transit, Audi Q7, BMW X6 and Range Rover.

"In the Russian realities, diesel cars continue to be in demand among drivers. And it is not surprising, because such cars have a number of advantages. Thanks to lower fuel consumption, the owner of the car can significantly save on gasoline. In addition, many diesel engines are known for reliability and are able to overcome the mark of 300-500 thousand kilometers of mileage," - said Managing Director of "Autoteka" Andrei Tumkin.

November 5, it was reported that in October 2024, Russians bought 605.3 thousand cars with mileage. This is 14.3% more than a month earlier, and 23.8% more than the result of October last year. The most popular model among passenger cars with used cars in October was the sedan Lada 2107, and this is the ninth month in a row. In mid-autumn, Russian residents bought 14.3 thousand VAZ "sevens".
