Head of the Situation Center of Roshydromet Yuri Varakin said that the air temperature in Moscow and the Moscow region in the first days of December exceeds the climatic norm by four degrees.

In a conversation with "Radio 1" on Wednesday, December 4, the expert noted that the temperature indicators will come to normal from December 5 to 8. Negative temperatures are predicted both in the daytime and at night. Precipitation is not expected, but there will be wind and light snow. Starting December 5, heavy icy conditions are expected.

Varakin added that on December 6 the frost will be -4...-9 degrees. December 7, snow is expected, thermometer columns will show -1 to -3 degrees during the day. Strong cold weather is not expected until mid-December.

Earlier, December 4, forecaster of the Meteo forecasting center Alexander Ilyin told RT that closer to the weekend Moscow will be under the influence of the Atlantic anticyclone, which will bring snowfalls. On Sunday, December 8, 5 to 10 cm of fresh snow will fall in the capital and the region. Snowfalls will persist next week, reports 360.ru.

On the same day, the yellow level of danger due to icy conditions extended in the Moscow region until the end of the week - until 01:00 on Monday, December 9. In the Moscow region the warning is valid until 2:00 on December 9, reports the agency of city news "Moscow".

On December 3, the scientific head of the Russian Hydrometeorological Center Roman Vilfand said that the coming winter promises to be variable and heterogeneous. Vilfand noted that in Siberia, especially in the northern part, the winter weather will be 5-10 degrees above normal.
