Putin updates Human Rights Council before traditional meeting


Russian President Vladimir Putin has changed the composition of the organization before the traditional December meeting with members of the Human Rights Council (HRC). The corresponding decree was published on December 4 on the Kremlin website.
Rector of the Higher School of Economics (HSE) Nikita Anisimov, deputy of the St. Petersburg City Council Alexander Malkevich and chairman of the all-Russian union "Federation of Independent Trade Unions of Russia" Sergei Chernogaev joined the council.
Elena Shishkina, a deputy of the People's Council of the Donetsk People's Republic (DNR), a member of the presidium of the movement "Free Donbass", Boris Kravchenko, president of the all-Russian trade union association "Confederation of Labor of Russia", Andrey Bokov, vice-president of the International Academy of Architecture (IAAM), as well as the president of the regional public fund to combat organized crime and corruption "ANTIMAFIA" were excluded from the organization's membership Yevgeny Myslovsky.
Earlier, on November 29, Putin included Elena Malysheva, head of the National Center for Historical Memory, and Sergei Smetanyuk, deputy director general of Mostostroy-11, into the Public Chamber.
