Putin expressed hope that the inflation target of 4% will be achieved

The inflation rate will sooner or later reach the 4% target. This was pointed out by Russian President Vladimir Putin at the plenary session of the VTB forum "Russia Calling!".
"We had the necessary indicator (inflation. - Ed.) 4% by some year, I hope we will reach it. The most important thing here is good, highly qualified and solidarity cooperation between the government and the Central Bank," he said.
At the same time, the main tool to fight inflation is to ensure sufficient output of goods, the president concluded.
During a meeting earlier in the day, Putin also urged to wisely use all tools in the fight against inflation. He also noted that inflation is currently at a fairly high level of 8.8% in annualized terms.
Earlier on Wednesday, the head of the Central Bank of Russia Elvira Nabiullina said that the regulator is confident in the continued growth potential of the Russian economy in 2025. According to her, the key rate is a powerful tool for fighting inflation, and this year, with the help of this tool, the Central Bank of Russia managed to "prevent the economy from entering an inflationary spiral."
