The Russian economy has almost completely adapted to the outflow of foreign investment. This was stated by Russian President Vladimir Putin at the plenary session of the XV VTB Investment Forum "Russia Calling!" on December 4.

"Russia has practically adapted to this situation. Yes, the outflow of foreign investment was obvious, we have now paid attention to it, it is true," he said.

Putin pointed to the growth of investment in Russia's fixed capital and indicated that it was due to the creation of new brands and support for domestic producers.

"We support our domestic manufacturer - apparently, it was unexpected for those who imposed certain restrictions in the sphere of economic cooperation," the president said.

He also noted that investments in Russia from friendly countries have increased significantly.

"Now I will not name the figures, but they have grown significantly, significantly. And it is impossible to block these channels, because it is related to economic interest," Putin said.

Earlier in the day, Kirill Dmitriev, CEO of the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF), said that Russia is expected to see an increase in foreign investment next year. According to Dmitriev, the administration of US President-elect Donald Trump is seen by most investors as pragmatically committed to rebuilding the global security system, which will allow investment not only from the Global South, but also from Western investors who regret leaving the Russian market.
