Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said during the government hour in Parliament on December 4 that Armenia considers itself outside the CSTO and no longer participates in decision-making in the organization.

"We don't participate in discussions and decision-making, but we don't use veto either, as we consider ourselves out of the CSTO. Let them decide what they want. The situation makes Armenia's return to the CSTO increasingly difficult, if not impossible. I think we have passed the point of no return here," Pashinyan noted.

Earlier, Pashinyan repeatedly criticized the CSTO for not providing assistance during the conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan in Nagorno-Karabakh. In February this year, he announced that the republic's participation in the organization is now frozen, as the organization, according to him, has not fulfilled its obligations towards Yerevan.

Before that, on November 28, Russian President Vladimir Putin allowed Armenia's return to full-format work in the CSTO. He noted that Armenia's current attitude towards the CSTO is dictated by internal political problems and the Nagorno-Karabakh issue. Putin emphasized that the events in Nagorno-Karabakh are not related to the CSTO activities. The Russian president called strange the opinion of the Armenian leadership that the CSTO should have intervened in the conflict in that territory.
