Expert reported 327 thousand man-made fires in Russia this year

Since the beginning of this year, over 327 thousand man-made fires have been recorded in Russia. The main reason for their occurrence is that people do not realize how easily such situations can arise. This was stated by Roman Okhotenko, Director of the Information Policy Department of the Russian Emergencies Ministry on December 4 at the Izvestia Media Center.

"Most of the fires occurred because people do not believe in the possibility of fire <...>, on them 6,586 people died, of which, I have in the certificate written, 333 children," - said the expert.

Okhotenko told reporters that the Russian Emergencies Ministry, Avito and ANO Dialogue Regions have developed a special online game, with the help of which Russians can learn the rules of safety at home and on the Internet. The aim of the project is to increase media literacy and inform citizens about the correct actions during domestic emergencies.

According to him, the number of people who doubt that a fire can happen is endless. With the beginning of the heating season, this issue becomes especially important, as people begin to actively use electric heating devices, as a result of which the networks are overloaded and, unfortunately, voltage fluctuations become inevitable.

The specialist also advises to use electric devices only when necessary, you should not leave them permanently connected to the network.

Earlier, on November 13, Professor of the Department of Nanoelectronics RTU MIREA, Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences Alexei Yurasov told "Izvestia" about the potential danger of induction stoves for health. According to the expert, the surface of induction stoves is not heated, and this makes them safer than gas or electric stoves, as the risk of burns is reduced.
