Russian President Vladimir Putin said on December 4 that it is necessary to correctly use all instruments in the fight against inflation.

"It is necessary to correctly, wisely use all the tools of economic policy in the fight against inflation, while avoiding structural overkill, including the risks of increasing income gaps of citizens and reducing the revenue base of Russian regions," he said at the plenary session of the VTB forum "Russia Calling!".

According to him, inflation is currently at a rather high level - 8.8% in annual terms. The Russian leader emphasized that in order to achieve positive results it is necessary to take coordinated joint actions with the government and the Central Bank (CBR) of the Russian Federation.

In addition, Putin pointed out the need to avoid distortions of key macroeconomic and microeconomic parameters, as well as unbalancing of certain industries.
