RDIF predicts growth of foreign investment in Russia in 2025

An increase in foreign investment is expected in Russia next year. This was stated by Kirill Dmitriev, CEO of the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF), on December 4.
"2025 may become the year of a significant increase in foreign investment in Russia," he told on the margins of the VTB forum "Russia Calling!".
According to Dmitriev, the administration of US President-elect Donald Trump is seen by most investors as pragmatically determined to rebuild the global security system, which will allow investment not only from the Global South, but also from Western investors who regret leaving the Russian market.
"The year 2025 is not only a chance for meaningful growth in direct investment in Russia, but also an important moment for a possible reassessment of monetary policy approaches. Fighting inflation should not kill investment activity. It is already obvious that interest rate increases are losing their effectiveness as a tool to curb inflation. Instead, it is investments that create new production, provide jobs and form long-term economic stability", - pointed out the CEO of RDIF.
Dmitriev noted that if high rates are held for too long, investors will continue to place capital on deposits instead of investing in the real sector, which will deprive the economy of the most important source of growth and innovation.
Earlier, on November 28, Dmitriev announced the creation of a joint venture fund by RDIF and Sirius, with a capital of 1 billion rubles. Dmitriev noted the importance of attracting talented young people of Russia in projects, adding that Sirius has already succeeded in attracting leading scientists.
Before that, on November 19, it was reported that farmers from the European Union want to enter the Russian market with their investments, as in the current conditions it is more profitable to produce fur in Russia. According to experts, fur production in Europe has collapsed six times since 2013. The industry has been negatively affected by the imposition of the green agenda and anti-Russian sanctions, which prohibit the export of fur products to Russia.
