Former deputy head of the Ministry of Transport Semenov appealed against his arrest


Former deputy head of the Russian Ministry of Transport Alexei Semenov has filed an appeal against his arrest in the fraud case. His lawyer Pavel Fabrizi told Izvestia about it.
Semenov was arrested on suspicion of fraud on a large scale. He does not admit guilt.
Employees of the economic security service of the FSB revealed the fact of embezzlement of more than 240 million rubles in the execution of the state contract, concluded in October 2012.
Deputy head of the Ministry of Transport was dismissed in November 2020. He was in charge of digital development in the ministry.
Semenov's detention became known on November 30. Later, on December 3, it was reported that the second defendant in Semenov's criminal case, Vyacheslav Smirnov, was sent to pre-trial detention.
