The court has remanded in absentia the US citizen Derrick Bales (included in the Russian Federation in the list of terrorists and extremists) in custody for mercenarism and committing a terrorist act in Kursk region. This was reported in the press service of the Investigative Committee (IC) of the Russian Federation on December 4.

"The court elected (in absentia) Bales a measure of restraint in the form of remand in custody," the Telegram channel said.

According to the agency, he is accused of committing a terrorist act in the Kursk region in late August 2024. It is specified that the figure was declared in the international wanted list.

Earlier, on November 18, Rosfinmonitoring added three foreign mercenaries to the list of terrorists and extremists, who took part in the fighting on the side of the AFU in the special operation zone. Jordan O'Brien, a mercenary from New Zealand, and two mercenaries from the USA - Derrick Bales and Daniel Bernard Rebar - were added to the list of terrorists and extremists.
