The court recovered RUB 9.3 million from Clearstream in favor of VEB.RF

Moscow Arbitration Court has decided to recover more than $87 thousand (about Br9.3 million) from the Luxembourg depository Clearstream in favor of the State Development Corporation "VEB.RF". This December 4 follows from the case card.

The ruling was issued on December 3. The court decided to satisfy the claims of "VEB.RF" in full.

The claim came to the court on July 22. As third parties to the case involved JSC "Non-bank credit organization" National Settlement Depository "(NSD) and JSC" St. Petersburg Settlement and Depository Center ".

In April, the Moscow Arbitration Court fully satisfied the claim of "VEB.RF" against the Belgian depository Euroclear Bank and instructed to recover about $297.2 million in favor of the State Development Corporation.

Last November, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree according to which the securities of foreigners blocked in Russia and kept in special accounts of type C can be exchanged for the assets of Russians frozen in the European depositories Euroclear and Clearstream.

On May 8, 2024, Investment Chamber reported to Izvestia that more than 50% of clients of brokers with blocked foreign securities have applied for reimbursement for them.
