Russian business takes the decisions of the Central Bank (CB) very seriously. This statement was made on December 4 by the Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation Maxim Reshetnikov.
"We also see that business takes very seriously the actions that the Central Bank takes," he said at the VTB forum "Russia Calling!".
At the same time, he noted that on the lesson of companies noticeable revision of investment programs, which are actively reduced. The minister added that at the current moment there is also a reduction in the volume of orders for machine-building industries.
In addition, Reshetnikov pointed out that the measures of the Central Bank are working, but it is important to pursue a joint policy, as well as to discuss new preferential programs of the government.
In turn, Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration Maxim Oreshkin emphasized that the Central Bank's task is to build regulation in such a way that the growth of the economy's credit corresponds to the goals of long-term development.
On the same day, Central Bank head Elvira Nabiullina said that the potential of the Russian economy will continue to grow in 2025. She also noted that the key rate is a powerful tool to fight inflation.
Prior to that, on November 28, Kirill Tremasov, Advisor to the Chairman of the Bank of Russia, said that the regulator will discuss the issue of raising the key rate at the meeting on December 20. At the same time, Deputy President and Chairman of the Board of VTB Dmitry Pyanov said that the bank's analysts predict an increase in the key rate to 23%.
