There were 297 traffic accidents in Russia over the past day

Over the past day, 297 road accidents were recorded on Russian roads, in which 27 people were killed and 348 injured. As a result of 124 accidents, 62 of which occurred at crosswalks and the same number outside their zone of action, nine pedestrians were killed and 119 others were injured of varying severity. Among the injured pedestrians 20 children, half of whom were injured at crosswalks. This was reported to "Izvestia" on Wednesday, December 4, in the State Automobile Inspectorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia.

There were 14 accidents involving buses on the roads of Russia, in which there were no fatalities, but 16 people were injured. The cause of four accidents with buses was the violation of traffic rules by their drivers.

Over the past day there were nine accidents involving drunk drivers and six more accidents in which drivers refused medical examination. Four people died in such accidents, 23 more (including three children) were injured. The State Automobile Inspectorate urged road users not to remain indifferent to the problem of drunkenness at the wheel and timely report to the police about drivers who behave inadequately on the road, driving in an inebriated state.

With participation of minors 33 accidents were registered, as a result of which there were no dead children, 34 young road users were injured, 14 of them - passengers of vehicles.

"The traffic police reminds drivers of the need to carry out the transportation of children in strict compliance with the current safety rules. Also remember that the life and health of young passengers depend entirely on your skills, driving experience, well-being and law-abiding behavior on the road: refuse dangerous maneuvers and violations of the permitted speed limits. Be attentive, careful and never be distracted behind the wheel, controlling the traffic situation," Deputy Head of the Department of Propaganda of the State Automobile Inspection of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, Police Colonel Anton Belan told Izvestia.

In addition, in the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania, traffic was stopped all night on the section of the federal highway A-164 "Transkam" from the village of Buron (65th km) to the northern portal of the Roki tunnel (94th km) due to a rockfall. At present the traffic on this section of the road is resumed.

In Krasnoyarsk region, due to snow, snowstorms and gusty winds, traffic on a 17-kilometer stretch of road from Norilsk to the airport has been blocked since the evening of December 3. In the Jewish Autonomous Region, due to ice and snow accumulation, the movement of buses on the federal highway R-297 "Amur" from 1753 to 1948 km was temporarily restricted.

In Murmansk region due to unfavorable weather conditions, snow, blizzard and gusty wind all the previous night traffic was temporarily stopped on the Zapolyarny - Salmiyarvi regional highway from the zero to the 23rd km.

When planning long-distance trips in these regions, motorists were advised to keep an eye on the technical condition of their vehicles, timely change of tires according to the season, weather forecasts and media reports from the places of road closures or traffic restrictions. And also if possible to refrain from traveling, and in cities to use public transportation.

November 26, it was reported that the State Duma adopted in the first reading of the bill to introduce a fine of up to Br5 thousand for repeated driving without a MTPL policy. Now the fine under Part 1 of Article 12.37 of the Administrative Code ("Driving during the period not provided for by the policy, or transferring control to a driver not included in the contract") is Br500 and Br800 - under Part 2 of the same article ("Driving without a valid policy").
