FSB officers suppressed a terrorist financing channel in Ingushetia

Employees of the border department of the Federal Security Service (FSB) of Russia in the Republic of Ingushetia stopped the channel through which terrorists were financed. This was reported by the press service of the agency on December 4.

"In the city of Malgobek of the Republic of Ingushetia detained a citizen of the Russian Federation, who assisted in the financing of terrorism. The detainee collected money for further financing of the activities of the international terrorist organization "Islamic State" (IS, banned in Russia. - Ed.)," the FSB said in a statement.

The agency said that the defendant collected 14 million rubles and transferred them to the IS. The Southern District Military Court found the man guilty of a crime under Part 5 of Article 33, Part 4 of Article 205.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Terrorist act"), and sentenced him to imprisonment for a term of 11 years.

Earlier, on December 2, Savetsky District Court of Makhachkala arrested five suspects in preparation of terrorist acts in Dagestan for two months. The criminal group was formed in the Kizlyar district of the republic. The defendants purchased components for the manufacture of explosive devices and hid them in a cache. Law enforcers seized these items.
