The State Duma has proposed to introduce for couriers an analog of the MTPL insurance policy, the effect of which will apply to those who move on foot, on bicycles or mopeds. The initiative was authored by the head of the Duma Committee on Labor, Social Policy and Veterans Affairs Yaroslav Nilov, reports "Parlamentskaya Gazeta" on December 4.
The deputy drew attention to the growing number of traffic accidents, in which the culprits are delivery drivers. At the same time, it is almost impossible to get compensation from them to the victims of incidents within the framework of civil law relations, Nilov said.
He noted that couriers who travel by car, a policy of MTPL is required by law, but there are no analogues of "auto insurance" couriers. Such an insurance product for couriers should appear on a mandatory basis, so that the victims as a result of the actions of couriers was easier to get compensation payments, said Nilov.
