The situation on the incidence of an unknown virus in the Democratic Republic of Congo is under control of Rospotrebnadzor specialists. This was reported in the press service of the agency on December 4.

"Rospotrebnadzor specialists keep under control information about an unknown disease in the Democratic Republic of Congo," - stated in the message.

The agency said that a laboratory base has been created to identify risks and take additional measures, in addition, there are staffs of trained specialists, as well as reference centers of leading scientific organizations.

The report specified that in the Republic's Gwanggo province, more than 140 people have fallen victim to the unknown virus. Symptoms of the disease are high fever and severe headache, they are similar to the flu.

In addition, Rospotrebnadzor warned that the automated information system "Perimeter" is working at checkpoints across the state border, which allows to identify citizens with signs of infectious diseases arriving from countries with unfavorable epidemiological situation.
