Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov's interview with American journalist Tucker Carlson will be published in a couple of days. This was announced by Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova on December 4.

The diplomat noted on the air of "Radio Sputnik" that the conversation turned out to be very interesting, it lasted 1.5 hours. During the conversation Lavrov and Carlson discussed issues related to relations between Russia and the United States, as well as the situation in Ukraine.

At the moment the interview is in the editing stage, Zakharova specified.

"Sergey Lavrov's interview with Tucker Carlson. Be patient," she also wrote in her Telegram channel, attaching a corresponding photo.

Tucker Carlson said that he arrived in Moscow for an interview with Lavrov on the same day. According to him, he and his team are trying to show Americans a different point of view from what "they see from NBC News and The New York Times." According to the journalist, ordinary U.S. citizens don't realize that the world is closer to nuclear conflict than it was during the Cuban Missile Crisis.

Earlier, on February 9, Carlson interviewed Russian President Vladimir Putin. The Russian president answered questions about NATO, the United States, China, the Nord Stream explosions and the release of American journalist Evan Hershkovich, who was accused in Russia of espionage.

Carlson first flew to Russia on Feb. 3. His visit to Moscow caused a mixed reaction in the United States. At the same time, many Western politicians and experts praised the interview, pointing to its great importance in highlighting Russia's position to Western audiences.
