On Wednesday, December 4, the press center of Izvestia Information Center hosts a press conference of the All-Russian Society for Rare (Orphan) Diseases on the topic "Genetic testing as a part of healthcare".
On increasing the availability of genetic testing for all categories of patients, ensuring an ethical approach and confidentiality of personal data, the importance of integrating genetic testing into the health care system, methods of raising awareness of the opportunities and risks of genetic testing are told:
- Ekaterina Zakharova, Dr. M.Sc., Professor, Head of the Laboratory of Hereditary Metabolic Diseases, FGBNU MGNSC named after Academician N.P. Bochkov, Chairman of the Expert Council of the All-Russian Society of Rare (Orphan) Diseases (VOOZ);
- Vera Izhevskaya, Dr. M.Sc., Associate Professor, Deputy Director for Scientific Work, Academician N.P. Bochkov FGBNU MGNSC, Chairman of the Russian Society of Medical Geneticists;
- Alexander Polyakov, Ph.D., Professor, Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Head of the Laboratory of the Bochkov FGBNU MGNSC;
- Tatiana Strokova, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Head of the Department of FGBUN FIC Nutrition and Biotechnology, Professor, Russian Academy of Sciences;
