The Kremlin's official Telegram channel has been registered with Roskomnadzor. This was announced on December 4 by Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov.

"Yes, we have registered, everything has been reported," he told RIA Novosti.

The channel has an audience of more than 240,000 subscribers. It was launched in April 2022.

Earlier, on October 4, the Russian Ministry of Finance and Roskomnadzor prepared draft documents establishing rules for verification of owners of channels and pages in social networks, the number of subscribers exceeding 10 thousand. It is reported that all publicks and channels with 10 thousand subscribers will be included in a special list of Roskomnadzor, for presence in which the owners of pages will have to send a minimum amount of information about themselves and the channel (including contact information).

In August, the Expert Institute for Social Research (EISI) positively assessed the de-anonymization of channel owners in messengers. In addition, Oleg Matveichev, deputy chairman of the State Duma Committee on Information Policy, Information Technologies and Communications, pointed out that the amendments are necessary to protect citizens and reduce the spread of negative content.

In July, the State Duma adopted in the second and third readings amendments on the obligation of owners of pages in social networks with more than 10 thousand subscribers to transfer data about themselves to Roskomnadzor (RKN). They will be introduced into the law "On Information, Information Technologies and Protection of Information".
