An IL-76 airplane of the Russian Emergencies Ministry has delivered the fifth batch of humanitarian aid for the residents of Afghanistan. This was reported in the press service of the Russian Emergencies Ministry on December 4.

"The humanitarian operation is carried out on the orders of Russian President Vladimir Putin and the instruction of the head of the Russian Emergencies Ministry Alexander Kurenkov. A special aircraft of the emergency department delivered the fifth batch of gumpomoschip to the population of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan", - stated in the message of the department in Telegram-channel.

It is specified that the volume of delivered humanitarian aid (foodstuffs) amounted to 28 tons.

Earlier, on November 28, Putin said that Russia hopes for the development of relations with Afghanistan and the current leadership of this country. He said that the situation in Afghanistan is currently stabilizing.

A day earlier, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said that it was impossible to develop cooperation in practice without removing the status of terrorists from the Taliban Islamist movement in power in Afghanistan (the organization is under UN sanctions for terrorist activities).

Back in early June, Putin noted that stability in Afghanistan is very important for both Russia and other countries in the region, so it is necessary to build relations with the Taliban government.
