The Ministry of Industry and Trade proposed to admit to heavy production from 16 years of age

Access to work in difficult, harmful or hazardous conditions may be provided from the age of 16. This was reported on December 4 by TASS with reference to a document with a list of responses of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation to the State Duma deputies.

"The decree of the government of the Russian Federation approved the list of heavy work with harmful or hazardous working conditions, in the performance of which it is prohibited to use the labor of persons under 18 years of age. At the same time, the said list does not assume the reduction of the age of specialists in the market within the framework of the federal project "Professionalism", as well as the modernization of workplaces at enterprises over the past 20 years," the text of the document reads.

In addition, it is proposed to amend Article 265 of the Labor Code of the Russian Federation and to supplement it with a provision on the admissibility of admission to work, which falls into the list, persons from the age of 16. However, this will be possible only if "safe working conditions are created, confirmed by the results of certification of workplaces, with a positive conclusion of the state expert examination of working conditions and gossanepidnadzor service of the subject of the Russian Federation".

According to the Ministry of Industry and Trade, such changes will give students of professional educational organizations an opportunity to undergo paid internships. A working group has already been set up at the Ministry of Labor to prepare the proposal.

Earlier, on October 4, investor Evgeny Khodchenkov told whether teenagers should work part-time and how it will affect their adult life. According to him, thanks to part-time jobs, teenagers learn to manage finances and are less likely to find themselves in financial "breakdowns" in adulthood. He emphasized that this way they get not just pocket money, but also make the first steps to a responsible attitude to finances.

In September, hh.ru published a study, according to which the demand for employees under the age of 18 in the Russian Federation increased by a third. This is 15% more compared to the same period in 2023. Most often, young people go into the field of administrative personnel as assistants or helpers.
