American billionaire entrepreneur Ilon Musk said on December 3 that the US is rapidly approaching total bankruptcy due to its growing national debt.

"The US is very quickly approaching actual bankruptcy," he wrote on his page in the social network X (former Twitter).

Earlier, on November 23, the U.S. Treasury Department published data reporting that the U.S. public debt for the first time in history exceeded the $36 trillion mark. On the same day, Musk also claimed that the United States was approaching bankruptcy.

The entrepreneur repeatedly spoke out about the impending bankruptcy of the United States. Thus, on October 18, he said that the cause of bankruptcy is too much spending of the government of the States. In order to prevent this, it is necessary to reduce spending. Before that, on July 25, Max said that the U.S. expects bankruptcy, after information that interest payments on the national debt of the country in 2024 will amount to $1.14 trillion.

Specialists of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) called the growth of U.S. government debt a threat to the world economy. Thus, by 2032, the country's national debt may exceed 140% of GDP. The IMF urged U.S. politicians to carefully consider raising indirect taxes and gradually increasing income tax.
