Trump asked to dismiss actress' payoff case modeled on Biden's son decision

U.S. President-elect Donald Trump urged a New York court to dismiss his case about his relationship with actress Stormy Daniels, referring to the decision of White House President Joe Biden to pardon his son Hunter Biden. This was reported by NBC News on December 4 with reference to Trump's lawyers.
"Lawyers of President-elect Donald Trump urged the judge who presided over the trial on his charge of falsifying business documents to dismiss the charge against him, referring to the language of President Joe Biden, which he used when he announced the pardon of his son", - stated in the material.
The lawyers recalled that Biden declared the "unfair and selective prosecution" of his son, in connection with which Hunter Biden should be pardoned. The lawyers asked the court to apply this language to the president-elect's case and reported that "political interference" plays a key role in this case.
Earlier, on December 1, Joe Biden, whose powers expire in January, decided to pardon his son Hunter. The latter stated that he now intends to devote his life to helping people with addictions. In Biden Sr.'s opinion, his son was unfairly prosecuted, White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said. However, the next day it became known that the oversight committee of the U.S. House of Representatives will continue to investigate Hunter Biden.
In September, Hunter Biden pleaded guilty to nine counts of criminal charges of non-payment of taxes, and in June - on three counts of weapons possession. The verdict in these cases was to be announced on December 12 and 16.
Meanwhile, according to the prosecution's version, Trump had an intimate relationship with porn actress Stormy Daniels in 2006, and in 2016 his lawyer Michael Cohen paid $130 thousand in exchange for a nondisclosure agreement. After his election to the presidency, Trump reimbursed Cohen's financial spending by disguising the payments as legal fees. The checks totaled $420,000.
In May, a jury found Trump guilty in the case of forgery of financial documents. The President-elect himself said after the meeting that it was nothing more than falsification, behind which is the current head of state Joe Biden, who wants to get rid of the main rival in the past elections. Later, Trump called the jury's decision on the first case a scam and pointed out that now every American is at risk of criminal prosecution.
