South Korean labor unions have announced a general strike

The National Federation of Democratic Trade Unions of South Korea announced the beginning of a general strike until the President of the state Yun Seok-yol resigns. This was reported by YTN TV channel on December 4.

It is specified that the federation, as of the press conference, "will begin an indefinite general strike until Yoon Seok-yeol resigns."

In addition, members of the Seoul Metropolitan Labor Union will begin a protest at Gwanghwamun Square on Wednesday, Dec. 4.

Earlier in the day, South Korea's opposition party demanded the resignation of the country's President Yoon Seok-yeol. It is noted that all members of the party "Toburo" were in favor of the resignation of the President. Then it also became known that all heads of the administration of the President of South Korea, as well as senior secretaries resigned.

President of the Republic of Korea Yun Seok-yol declared martial law on December 3. The reason given was the threat of paralysis of power due to attempts to conduct impeachment proceedings.

Later the same day in the government of South Korea voted to cancel martial law in the country. It was specified that the decision was made unanimously, all 190 members of the National Assembly voted positively. South Korean President Yun Seok-yol canceled the emergency gathering of military personnel and sent those who arrived for the draft back.

Commander of the emergency regime, Chief of Army Staff Park Ahn-soo noted that the activities of parliament, political parties and associations in South Korea are banned until martial law is lifted. Eyewitnesses shared that protesters were gathering outside the National Assembly building in Seoul. Later, footage of military equipment in the capital appeared.
