Honored Military Pilot of the USSR Alexei Goryainov died at the 91st year of life


Honored military pilot of the Russian Federation, retired Colonel-General of Aviation Alexei Goryainov died at the age of 91. This was reported by the newspaper "Krasnaya Zvezda" on December 4.
"With deep regret we inform you that on November 30, 2024, the honored military pilot of the Russian Federation, retired Colonel-General of Aviation retired Goryainov Alexei Semenovich passed away at the 91st year of life," - stated in the publication.
Goryainov was born on November 16, 1934 in the village of Kuzminka, Kursk region. He graduated from the Kursk special school of the Air Force, then was accepted to the Pavlodar flight school in Kazakhstan, and then received a recommendation to the Stalingrad military aviation school of pilots. Goryainov served as Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Air Force for higher education, and was also an advisor to the Russian Ambassador to India.
He was awarded the Order of October Revolution, "For Service to the Motherland in the Armed Forces of the USSR" of II and III degrees. During his career, the pilot mastered eight different models of airplanes.
