Russian Permanent Representative to the United Nations Vasily Nebenzya said on December 4 that Russia strongly condemns the sortie of Hayat Tahrir al-Sham terrorists (banned in Russia) in Syria.

According to him, the terrorists in Syria are being supported by the USA and its allies to "sow chaos in Syria". Also, Ukraine 's GURs are arming militants with drones and coded GPS modules. At the same time, the Idlib militants "openly brag" that they are supported by Ukrainian security services.

"According to available information, support for terrorists in the Syrian Arab Republic (SAR) is provided to varying degrees primarily by the Americans and their allies," Nebenzya said during a UN Security Council meeting.

Nebenzya added that Russia has repeatedly warned of "the inadmissibility of flirting with international terrorists" who have settled in the immediate vicinity of Aleppo province.

The head of the Russian diplomatic mission noted that the Syrian Armed Forces, backed by the Russian Allied Forces and other allies acting at the request of Syria's legitimate authorities, are fighting back against the militants.

"With the use of fighter jets, artillery, multiple rocket launchers, point and calibrated strikes are being carried out on the positions of the terrorist movement and the militants who have joined it. Since the beginning of the operation, about 400 terrorists have been eliminated and over 600 wounded," Nebenzya added.

Earlier, on December 2, the Russian Aerospace Forces (VKS) together with the Syrian military destroyed at least 100 militants during the day as part of the operation to repel terrorist aggression in Idlib, Hama and Aleppo provinces.

On this day, Iranian President Massoud Pezeshkian said during a telephone conversation with Russian leader Vladimir Putin that the activation of terrorists in Syria was part of an Israeli and US destabilization plan.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi on November 30 called the activation of terrorists in Syria part of the US plan amid Israel's defeat in Lebanon. In turn, the White House denied its involvement in what is happening. In addition, Britain, the United States, France and Germany called on all parties in Syria to de-escalate.

Before that, on November 29, the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) launched a counter-offensive against the positions of militants of the extremist group "Jebhat al-Nusra" (terrorist organization banned in Russia), who captured more than 20 settlements to the north and west of the city of Aleppo, and during the fighting liberated the city of al-Bakum.
