Nebenzya accused the U.S. of abusing its authority in chairing the UNSC

TheUnited States has been abusing its powers since the first day of its presidency in the UN Security Council (UNSC). This was stated by Russia's permanent representative to the world organization Vasily Nebenzya on December 4.

"Before this meeting begins, I want to draw attention to the unacceptable line of the US presidency, which, unfortunately, has abused its powers from the first day," Nebenzya pointed out.

According to him, the US arbitrarily added a speaker from the White Helmets and they "do not care about the situation in Syria," in connection with which the country is unworthy of the status of a permanent member of the UN Security Council.

Nebenzya also demanded a vote on the candidacy of the additional rapporteur and called for a vote against the US proposal.

Earlier, on October 23, Nebenzya said that Russia wants to know the details of the UN plan for Syria's reconstruction. According to the envoy, the first point of this plan should be "the rejection of any politically biased conditions" for launching development projects in Syria.
