In 2024, about 400 ventilation shafts will be renovated in Moscow

About 400 ventilation shafts of collectors renewed in Moscow in 2024. This was reported on Tuesday, December 3, by Deputy Mayor for Housing and Public Utilities and Improvement Pyotr Biryukov.

According to him, the main task was to fit these structures into the urban landscape, so the old "houses" were replaced by modernized grids, notes the agency of city news "Moscow". Materials and equipment from Russian manufacturers were used in the works.

The official pointed out that ventilation shafts are above-ground parts of communication collectors, providing them with an inflow of air necessary for the smooth functioning of underground engineering structures.

Renovation of ventilation shafts has been carried out in the city since 2011, when large-scale programs of improvement of streets and public spaces began, recalls "Moscow 24". The total length of collectors is over 816 km, the number of ventilation shafts exceeds 13 thousand, reports IA Regnum.
