South Korean President Yun Seok-yeol canceled the emergency gathering of military personnel and sent those who arrived for the draft back. This was reported by Yonhap News Agency on Dec. 3.

"Some time ago, the National Assembly demanded that martial law be lifted, and the servicemen were withdrawn," the president said.

Earlier in the day, Korean President Yun Seok-yol declared martial law. The reason given was the threat of power paralysis due to attempts to conduct impeachment proceedings.

Later, the commander of the emergency regime, Chief of Staff of the Ground Forces Park Ahn Soo said that the activities of parliament, political parties and associations in South Korea are prohibited until the lifting of martial law. Eyewitnesses shared that protesters were gathering outside the National Assembly building in Seoul. Later, footage of military equipment in the capital appeared.

In addition, it was reported that there was a sharp fall of the South Korean won against the US dollar. The local currency was quoted at 1.4 thousand won per $1. It is specified that it is 1.6 won lower than the previous session.
