South Korean President Yun Seok-yol said he is ready to lift martial law at the next government meeting. This was reported by Yonhap news agency on December 3.

"Martial law will be canceled at the Cabinet meeting," the agency quotes his words from the broadcast of the emergency address.

It is specified that the meeting will be held in the near future. The President of the country also called on the parliament not to block the work of the government, trying to carry out impeachment, the agency specified.

In addition, the leader of the Power of the People Party Han Dong-hoon, which is pro-presidential, apologized for the actions of Yoon Seok-yeol in a live broadcast of the YTN TV channel. As the hosts of the broadcast noted, he "told reporters that <...>he was very sorry that this happened."

Earlier in the day, Korean President Yun Seok-yol declared martial law. The reason given was the threat of power paralysis due to attempts to conduct impeachment proceedings.

Later, the commander of the emergency regime, Chief of Staff of the Ground Forces Park Ahn Soo said that the activities of parliament, political parties and associations in South Korea are prohibited until the lifting of martial law. Eyewitnesses shared that protesters were gathering outside the National Assembly building in Seoul. Later, footage of military equipment in the capital appeared.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov, commenting on the situation, called it "alarming" . In turn, the official representative of the United Nations Secretary-General (UN) António Guterres, Stephane Dujarric, said during a briefing that the organization was following the situation in Seoul with concern.
