"Torpedo" on the birthday of the head coach lost to "Metallurg" in a KHL match

Nizhny Novgorod Torpedo lost 3:5 (0:1, 2:1, 3:1) to Metallurg Magnitogorsk in a regular season Kontinental Hockey League (KHL) match on Tuesday, December 3.

Torpedo's defeat coincided with the birthday of their head coach, two-time Olympic champion Igor Larionov, who turned 63.

Sergei Goncharuk and Mikhail Abramov scored a double for the losers. For Metallurg, Robin Press, Denis Zernov, Alexander Petunin, Danila Yurov and Vladislav Eremenko scored.

"Metallurg" scored 38 points and is in 5th place in the Eastern Conference table. "Torpedo" with 35 points - on the 8th line of the "West", adds "Sport-Express".

In the next match on December 6, "Torpedo" will take home CSKA Moscow, and "Metallurg" on December 5 will play with "Lada" in Togliatti.

Earlier, on December 2, Lokomotiv Yaroslavl defeated local HC Admiral on the road at the Fetisov Arena in Vladivostok in the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL) Fonbet match. The game ended with a score of 3:0.
