The readiness of the near-by railroad tracks to the seaport "Lavna", which is being built on the western shore of the Kola Bay in the Murmansk Region, has reached 80%. This is reported by the Federal Credit Institution "Rostransmodernization" on Tuesday, December 3.
"At the moment at the facility works on laying the track structure at the stations, construction of electric centralization posts, laying of engineering communications, as well as erecting buildings and structures are being carried out," - stated in the message.
As IA "Bi-Port" specifies , the whole railroad line is being laid with a track without joints. Specialists are also constructing buildings and structures of transportation security, reconstructing roads that fall within the construction zone.
Construction of the Lavna port on the opposite shore of the Kola Bay from Murmansk began in 2021. Its main activity will be coal transshipment: the production capacity of the coal terminal will be 18 million tons of coal per year. It is planned to put the port into operation by the end of 2024.
