Northern Basin fishermen harvested more than 400 thousand tons of fish

Fishermen of the Northern Basin have harvested 416.5 thousand tons of fish. This is reported by IA "Bi-Port" with reference to the data of the industry monitoring system of Rosrybolovstvo (CSMS).

Thus, by December 3, fishermen have caught 210.6 thousand tons of cod, 58 thousand tons of haddock and 51.7 thousand tons of capelin. The national catch of aquatic bioresources amounted to about 4.6 million tons.

According to information as of November 12, the volume of fish caught in the Northern Basin reached 402 thousand tons. Thus, fishermen have caught 14.5 thousand tons of bioresources for three weeks.

The news agency specifies that in the exclusive economic zones of foreign countries, convection areas and the open part of the World Ocean, the Russian fleet caught about 460 thousand tons of aquatic bioresources.

In mid-November it was reported that Russia recorded the worst salmon catch in 20 years. "Izvestia" wrote that the cost of a can of red caviar will double in price by the end of this year compared to the previous year. The reason is the decrease in the catch of salmon in the Far East, Sakhalin and Kamchatka.
