Emergency Situations Ministry of Yakutia: passing asteroid passed above the atmosphere

In the sky above Yakutia was seen an asteroid, which passed above the Earth's atmosphere. This was reported on December 3 by the Main Department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia in the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia).

"Immediately the forces and means of all interacting structures of the management bodies of the territorial subsystem of the RSChS were brought to readiness," - noted the agency in Telegram-channel.

It is emphasized that the safety of life activity of the population was not violated.

Earlier in the day, the head of the laboratory Extra terra consortium of the Ural Federal University (UFU) Viktor Grokhovsky said that the fall of the asteroid - the 11th case in history, when scientists have determined the phenomenon in advance and calculated the trajectory.

The eyewitnesses also shared footage of the celestial body's passage.
