Russia's strategic defeat equals its destruction. Russian President Vladimir Putin said this on December 3 during a visit to the Center for Innovative Technologies in Orthopedics, a video published on the Kremlin website.

"Someone says from the outside: 'We need to inflict a strategic defeat on Russia.' And what is that? Destroy! How many times has it been like this in our history," Putin said, speaking to the servicemen.

The Russian leader also expressed gratitude to the participants of the Special Military Operation (SMO) for standing up in defense of the Motherland.

Earlier, on November 7, Putin said that the US goal is to inflict a strategic defeat on Russia. The Russian leader also noted that Russia is ready to dialog with the West. The head of state also noted that Russia would observe the formulation of proposals of the new U.S. administration on strategic stability.
