Court fines Telegram 4 million rubles for refusal to remove banned content

Moscow 's Tagansky District Court has fined messenger Telegram for refusing to remove information contrary to Russian law. This is reported on December 2 in the Telegram-channel of Moscow courts of general jurisdiction.

The ruling against Telegram.inc was issued in accordance with the resource's offense under Part 2 of Article 13.41 of the Administrative Code of the Russian Federation ("Failure to comply with the requirements of the supervisory authority in the sphere of information and mass communications to restrict access to information resources that do not comply with the norms of Russian law").

The company was imposed an administrative penalty in the form of a fine of Br4 million.

Earlier, on November 25, the court fined Telegram 7 million rubles for refusing to remove information contrary to Russian law.

Back in March, more than 256 thousand units of illegal material were blocked in the social network, while the site was repeatedly brought to administrative responsibility.
