Putin visited the Shvetsova Center for Rehabilitation of Disabled People
On December 3, Russian President Vladimir Putin visited the L.I. Shvetsova Scientific and Practical Center for Medical and Social Rehabilitation of Disabled People.
The head of state was accompanied by Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova and Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin. The President was shown the rehabilitation equipment in the center and the swimming pool. Putin also observed the physical therapy and talked to the patients of the center.
In addition, the President talked to the young patients of the center. The boy Zhenya even offered the head of state to go skiing together.

Zhenya added that he would like to skate with the president, but he does not know how to skate yet. The child's mother said that her son has spinal muscular atrophy.
The rehabilitation center started its work back in 2004 with the assistance of Lyudmila Shvetsova, deputy mayor in the Moscow government. The center has created a unified system of support for people with disabilities, including a full range of medical, social and professional rehabilitation services. Over 32 thousand people with disabilities and persons with disabilities have received comprehensive rehabilitation during the work of the center.
