Russia is interested in opening direct air service with Pakistan. This was reported in the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation on December 3.

The ministry noted that Russian Transport Minister Roman Starovoit met with the co-chairman of the Russian-Pakistani intergovernmental commission, Pakistani Energy Minister Sardar Leghari.

"The Russian side confirmed the interest in opening direct air service between our countries," - said in the Telegram-channel of the Ministry of Transport.

It is specified that the aviation authorities of Russia and Pakistan will hold consultations on this issue the other day.

Before that, in October, Russian President Vladimir Putin and Pakistani leader Asif Ali Zardari exchanged mutual invitations to visit each other's countries and confirmed their intention to intensify bilateral ties in all areas.
