Ukrainian Defence Minister Rustem Umerov has been summoned to the Verkhovna Rada in connection with the scandal related to the supply of low-quality mines to the Ukrainian army. This was reported on December 3 by MP Yaroslav Zheleznyak.

"The defense Minister Rustem Umerov was summoned to the Duma about scandals about defense orders," he wrote in Telegram-channel.

The MP added that it was necessary to collect from 150 votes of deputies to make a decision. As a result, 153 votes were collected.

In November this year in Ukrainian social networks appeared videos in which fighters of the Armed forces of Ukraine (AFU) complain about low-quality mines. It was specified that when attempting to fire the ammunition got stuck in the barrel of the gun or "spit out" at a couple of dozens of meters.

Earlier, on November 26, MP Oleksiy Honcharenko (included in the Russian Federation in the list of terrorists and extremists) submitted to the Verkhovna Rada a draft resolution on Umerov's resignation.

The Ukrainian daily Strana.ua said on 20 September that Umerov had recently been increasingly criticized by the mass media and activists close to Western structures.
