- The expert estimated the amount requested by Ukraine from the West for fighting in 2025

Military expert, associate professor of the department of political analysis and social and psychological processes at the Plekhanov Russian Economic University Oleg Glazunov has expressed the opinion that the West will not allocate $126bn to Ukraine - the amount requested by Kiev for combat operations in 2025.
In a conversation with Lenta.Ru on Tuesday, December 3, the expert emphasized that this is a very large amount that Western countries should take from their own budgets, and no one will give such an amount to Ukraine. Especially with the arrival of Donald Trump, the President-elect of the United States.
"I think that not immediately, gradually, but spending on Ukraine will decrease. Trump has other priorities in foreign policy, and he considers the threat of China and Iran more than Russia. They will receive two or three times less," Glazunov noted.
The expert recalled that there are corruption problems in Ukraine, against the background of which "half of the transferred money will not reach the addressee." He added that Ukraine, even with the allocation of the required amount, will not have enough resources to win, as it needs people who know how to use the appropriate equipment.
Earlier on December 3, The Wall Street Journal, citing a Ukrainian official, reported that Kiev needs $126 billion in aid from allies to fight in 2025, NSN writes. Such an amount will help offset "Russia's rapidly growing military expenditures," RT specifies.
According to Pentagon calculations, the total amount of US military aid to Ukraine during the Biden administration exceeded $62 billion.
On December 2, US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken said that the United States was allocating a new $725m military aid package to Ukraine. The head of the State Department also specified that another batch of anti-personnel mines had been added to the package, 360.ru noted.
At the same time, the first deputy head of the Federation Council's international affairs committee, Vladimir Dzhabarov, said that the delivery of the new aid package to Ukraine would lead to an increase in escalation.
