New car sales for the month fell by 29% in Russia

Sales of new passenger cars in Russia in November 2024 were 28.8% lower than in October of the same year. Thus, in mid-autumn, 171.2 thousand new passenger cars were sold in the country, and in its last month - 121.9 thousand. This follows from the report of the analytical agency "Avtostat", which was read by "Izvestia" on December 4.

However, compared to November 2023, last month's sales increased by 11.1%. The market leadership still belongs to Lada, which accounted for more than 31% of the total volume (37.9 thousand units) at the end of the fall. At the same time, a year ago its share was slightly below 30%.

Among foreign brands, the best was again Haval, whose cars sold 15.4 thousand units in the last fall month. Next are three more Chinese brands - Chery (11.1 thousand units), Geely (10.2 thousand units) and Changan (6.3 thousand units). The sixth place was taken by Belarusian Belgee with an indicator of 3.2 thousand cars. The top ten was completed by Omoda, Moskvich, Jetour and Jaecoo. Among them, the Russian brand was in the top ten for the first time this year.

Six out of ten brands, which were among the market leaders, showed positive dynamics in November. At the same time, Belgee grew the strongest on a low base (almost 13 times). And the sales decrease in the top ten is demonstrated by Omoda (-30.7%), Changan (-5.3%), Geely (-3.8%) and Chery (-2.2%).

The top five best-selling models were Lada Granta and Vesta, Haval Jolion, Lada Largus and Chery Tiggo 4 Pro. Chery Tiggo 7 Pro Max, Lada Niva Legend and Niva Travel, as well as Haval M6 and Geely Monjaro rounded out the top ten. Over the past 11 months of 2024 in Russia sold almost 1.45 million new passenger cars (+54.1%).

On the eve it became known that in the first 11 months of 2024 in Russia was sold 417.4 thousand passenger and commercial vehicles Lada, which is 30.6% more compared to the same period last year. In November, sales amounted to 39.6 thousand units (+9.8% compared to November last year).
