- Ukrainian media reported on the emergence of alliances due to the risk of a change of power in the country

Opposition circles in Ukraine have started to form alliances against Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, whose powers expired on 20 May, amid the victory of Republican Donald Trump in the US presidential election. This was reported on December 3 by the Ukrainian edition of Strana.ua.
Its source in political circles said that Zelenskyy's critics were planning media campaigns, creating political projects and forming alliances, expecting a possible change of power in the near future. In addition, some oppositionists are trying to contact Trump's team. For example, businessman Boris Kolomoisky, who is in pre-trial detention, established contact with Trump's advisor Boris Epstein.
The reason was that Trump won the election and he is seeking to resolve the conflict in Ukraine. Politicians in the country realize that once the crisis is over, presidential and Verkhovna Rada elections will have to be held. The opposition expects that Zelensky will lose to Valeriy Zaluzhny, the former head of the AFU and Ukraine's ambassador to the UK, if he runs in the election.
For these reasons, Zelensky's opponents are increasingly calling for a halt to the conflict along the line of contact. Nevertheless, the Ukrainian president and his administration are following these statements and are unwilling to cede power, doing everything to prevent the establishment of a ceasefire.
Earlier, on September 4, the first deputy chairman of the Federation Council Committee on International Affairs, Vladimir Dzhabarov, said that Zelensky and his cabinet should resign because their regime is criminal.
Later, on November 22, Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev said that Trump has every opportunity to end the conflict in Ukraine because Washington has all the levers to stop the fighting. At the same time, Medvedev added, Moscow does not rely on Trump or anyone else in the Ukrainian crisis.
Trump promised on Nov. 14 to "work very hard" to end the conflict in Ukraine. Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that Moscow will wait for proposals to this effect and is ready to consider them.
The election of the 47th president of the United States was held on November 5. In the national vote, Trump received 51% of the votes, while the Democratic candidate Kamala Harris received 47.4%. The next day, the politician, speaking to supporters, called himself the 47th President of the United States and said that his goal as head of state considers the cessation of military conflicts in the world.
