The Traffic Patrol Service of the Central Moscow Traffic Department has helped more than 250 thousand drivers during its existence. This was announced by Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Transport and Industry Maxim Liksutov in connection with the seventh anniversary of the service.

"In 2017, the CDPD launched the first roadside assistance service in the history of the city - Road Patrol. For 7 years it has expanded: a bicycle patrol and a motorcycle patrol appeared. Employees sort out accidents, draw up Europrotocols, help with defective cars, regulate traffic during city events, and in winter pull out stuck heavy trucks. Since 2017, patrol officers have helped more than 250,000 drivers. We will continue to ensure safe and smooth traffic in the city, as instructed by the Mayor of Moscow Sergey Sobyanin", - said Maxim Liksutov.

He reminded that the service of the Traffic Patrol of the Central Moscow Traffic Department was founded in 2017. At first, the patrol staff had only 17 people on five patrol cars. Now the staff has grown to 221 people, and the fleet has 66 vehicles, including 9 cars, 12 vans, 30 pickup trucks, 8 trucks and 7 motorcycles. Each day, 34 Highway Patrol crews patrol the capital's highways and streets.

The primary function of the Highway Patrol since the early days has been to keep traffic flowing smoothly in the city. Each officer can help regulate traffic at problematic intersections and during various events, as well as at accidents that restrict travel. They also assist residents with minor repairs, engine starts and accident resolution.

In the winter, crews are active in helping tow trucks that get stuck on the roads during heavy snowfalls. During the winter season, the patrol can pull up to 500 heavy vehicles.
