The U.S. Congress will continue its investigation against Hunter Biden

The Oversight Committee of the U.S. House of Representatives will continue to investigate Hunter Biden, who was pardoned by his father, President Joe Biden. This was stated by the head of the committee Republican James Comer to the TV channel Newsmax on December 2.
"We still haven't gotten all the information we've requested. The White House to this day is preventing us from obtaining legitimate evidence," he said.
Comer said the charges against Hunter Biden involved only 10 percent of his actual financial crimes.
He called the Biden family the most corrupt compared to the families of all previous presidents of the country. In particular, Comer pointed to the fact that six major U.S. banks filed more than 175 reports of her suspicious financial activity.
The congressman expressed hope that the U.S. Justice Department would join the committee's investigation after Donald Trump's inauguration and hold the Biden family and other officials involved accountable.
Earlier, on December 1, Joe Biden, whose powers expire in January, decided to pardon his son Hunter. The latter stated that he now intends to devote his life to helping people with addictions. In Biden Sr.'s opinion, his son was unfairly prosecuted, White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said.
Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova told Izvestia that the pardon of Hunter Biden is a caricature of democracy. In turn, US President-elect Donald Trump called what is happening an abuse and violation of justice, and the newspaper Politico compared it to the outcome of the Watergate scandal.
In September, Hunter Biden pleaded guilty to nine counts of criminal charges of tax evasion, and in June - on three counts of weapons possession. The verdict in these cases was to be announced on December 12 and 16.
